Ting, MM, MT-BC, is a joyful, energetic and kind young woman who loves children, musc, teaching and serving. As a child she found such a love for music that she branched out from many years of learning piano to also learn violin and recorder, as well as guitar and ukulele.
After completing her undergraduate work in piano performance in Taiwan, Ting's heart for people led her to music therapy as a way to share her gifts with a broader community. She received her Master's Degree in Music Therapy while also completing her Masters in Piano Performance. With more than 24 years of piano study and 10 years of violin, Ting added guitar and ukulele to her repertoire of instruments during her music therapy course work. This has allowed her to make more effective connections with her clients. She holds MT-BC national board certifications in Music Therapy and has extremely broad experience in providing music therapy, considering it an honor to have worked with children with developmental disabilities including Down syndrome, intellectual disability, ADHD, and moderate to severe ASD. In 15+ public school classes she has used her musical training to serve students with ASD who were non-verbal as well as serving a missions organization in the Phillipines for clients of all abilities and disabilities.
She credits her faith in God for her success and her love for helping others.
Teaching Style
Many times, fun in practice inspires the skill, and many times, the skill inspires the fun. Ting considers a successful lesson one that is enjoyed, but mainly, one in which the student has a takeaway to build upon on his or her own.
